Here we go again. Well, at least on THIS forum, we have the freedom
to jest without fear of over-moderation / censorship.

How hard is it to just post a thread saying hello?

Don't feel bad, Brent. I was banned over there, too.

Yup - that's the way to teach someone a lesson; delete their login name.
That will insure that they will want to come back, tail between their legs,
and conform to the whims of the moderator(s).

How hard is it to just post a thread saying hello?

How hard is it not to be too controlling, mandating with a rod of iron that a person
be forced to make an introduction that satisfies some undefined, arbitrary standard?

No one should be forced to do anything. Gun owners, of all people, know this better
than any other segment of the population. If someone chooses to introduce themselves,
that decision should come from them.

People will participate better when there are no silly rules or censorship, and gentlemen
can be free to exchange ideas, opinions, and hash things out with passion, humor, non-chalance,
or any way they choose. Socialism vs. Capitalism. Look how well and free this CRALRI forum has been,
even with the lack of Jim's moderation. Some of the best, most memorable and truthful posts
have been when a hijacked thread ran away with real, mature men dueling with words and wit.

Who really cares if some thoughts run off into another tributary? Does a gun forum really need
someone running in, crying and screaming "We can't have a free-for-all here!"...?
Well, put your pink handkerchief away and go start your own forum with all kinds of
nice rules to keep the unruly from coming out and ruining the party with their truth, direct
thoughts and humor too disturbing for the weak-hearted... Oh, I see you already did that...

In my opinion, as soon as someone decides that they have to appoint themselves as "one
who must control", it's all downhill from there. Most everyone here has probably been to
a gun club or range, where some self-appointed "range police" fellow, perhaps even well-
intentioned, stepped in and made sure to reprimand someone without a legitimate reason
other than to lift himself up by putting another down.

Loosen up, RIFOL, and maybe 90% of the posts on your forum won't have to be from the moderators.

aiwnios:

First off, why are you hijacking this Heritage thread about FREE TRANSFERS with your completely off-topic whining?

Second, your facts are totally incorrect -- you were NEVER banned from RIFOL, so why are you spreading outright lies? And, whose login name(s) was/were deleted? Where's your proof? Where's your evidence? This reminds me of the PRC thread with all the lies, bullsh!+, unfounded evidence, and manufactured hype to engender fear, frustration, concern, and shock-value.

Third, since you brought it up, why did you insist upon disrespecting the rules of another discussion forum?

I do not like my Second Amendment Right being infringed upon -- EVER. Likewise, I do not infringe upon the rules of personal websites or discussion forums. If one does not like it, why doesn't one dig into one's own pocket, start one's own website, create one's own discussion forum, and run it however one wishes? Have you ever considered doing this yourself? I think not, as I see the majority of your posts (i.e., nearly 66%) are made in the FOR SALE section where you are clearly making some cash off of someone else's website. It's nice to have a place to hawk your wares, that someone else built and pays for, and all you have to do is show up and behave any way you wish -- without any consequences or personal responsibility for your own actions -- correct?

No one should be forced to do anything? Nobody forces anyone to do anything at our discussion forum. People have an option -- the choice is purely theirs. If they choose to be respectful and civil -- they are welcome to participate. If they choose to violate our rules, we will surely NOT beg them to behave in a civilized manner -- NO, indeed NOT -- we will remind them of our rules and give them the choice to decide for themselves as adults.

Participate better? This is clearly subjective as you and I have very different ideas as to what this means. You mention silly rules and censorship. Our website is not about silly rules or censorship. You have obviously manufactured a fallacious straw-man argument to support your position. If you feel you must do so, no sweat on our end, as it's on you and simply reveals to us how you have twisted and contorted the situation at hand to suit your own skewed agenda. If this makes you happy, then so be it. I can only wonder if you are unhappy that you may not be able to post your items for sale in another possible venue because you opted to disprespect the rules. Again, your call.

Here's the thing...Jim DOES NOT moderate -- either do the other moderaters. And, some people may not find this appealing. To each their own.

So many of your remarks are loaded and prejudiced. To you, rules are silly. A moderator is one who must control. These too are fallacious arguments -- they are dichotomous, as if no other options exist except those you propose. You present your arguments in black and white fashion. It's this or that. It's this with all these affiliated criteria. If it is not, then it means this other thing. If living life with such a myopic view works for you, then hey -- who am I to judge?

Loosen up? If anyone needs to loosen up -- please take a quick moment and look in your nearest mirror, as you appear to be getting a bit worked up about your imaginings of some wrong-doing for no legitimate reason whatsoever. It's self-evident, as you hijacked this thread, posted something complete off topic, and rant and rave as if there is some semblance of merit to your juvenile whining.

How unfortunate...I have come across you a few of times here and found you to be a worthy poster with good ideas. You still have them, but for whatever reason -- when it comes to this topic of respecting our discussion forum, it's as if you have a Jekyll and Hyde persona. It's interesting how some will behave in front of a computer screen with a keyboard. I can only wonder if you would behave the same in person. Perhaps I will never know, which is perfectly fine with me, as I am certainly not interested in meeting those who lie to make their skewed points and incite anger for its own sake.

The real truth is, is that you deflect personal accountability for your own chosen actions/words/behaviors, and repackage it under the guise of over moderation and censorship, when this is not the case...again, to reiterate -- straw-man arguments at best...totally fallacious in every way.

I actually feel quite sorry for you, to know that dramafests based on outrights lies makes it happen for you. It's your choice.

May we now move foreward and return to the reason for this thread? That Heritage will offer FREE TRANSFERS wihtout restrictions?

So true -- and you know why, as well as several other folks. You brought it upon yourself. There is nobody to blame but yourself. So be it.

Now may we PLEASE return to the topic of Heritage FREE TRANSFERS???

First off, why are you hijacking this Heritage thread

I'm sure they don't mind. They are secure enough over there to enjoy even more publicity.

completely off-topic whining?

Off-topic, yes. Sometimes things diverge. Some of us have learned to adapt on the fly,
and can go off course occasionally, then return. It's OK to do this both conversationally
and on internet forums. You're calling my thoughts "whining" because they don't harmonize with your song.

you were NEVER banned from RIFOL

Well, check your phpBB software / permissions / users list. My login "doesn't exist" according to it,
when it used to. If it was due to a technical error, I apologize. If someone else pulled my plug without
your knowledge, then perhaps we'll both never know who or why.

why did you insist upon disrespecting the rules of another discussion forum?

"Insist" - This is too strong of a word for this situation. "disrespecting" - No disrespect was intended.
I honestly didn't see the mandatory introduction requirements until I was PMed. I then provided
my "minimalist" introduction, which was then edited to make it appear that I had not thrown a little
sarcasm in, just for fun.

Likewise, I do not infringe upon the rules of personal websites or discussion forums.

Nor do I, which is why myself and others will not be frequenting your forum.

If one does not like it, why doesn't one dig into one's own pocket, start one's own website,
create one's own discussion forum, and run it however one wishes?

I don't have to. CRALRI has been established and already exists. Was there a reason why a whole new
forum was started, rather than you helping out on CRALRI? Others besides myself might be curious, too.
By the way, what are you doing still posting over here?

Have you ever considered doing this yourself?

No, I'm too busy with other projects, and appreciate the CRALRI forum too much to have any desire to compete with it.

the majority of your posts are made in the FOR SALE section where you are clearly making some cash
off of someone else's website.
Well, that's what the "For Sale" section is for, isn't it?
I've bought a lot of stuff from the CRAL Classified section, too. How's the RIFOL "For Sale" section doing, so far?

you appear to be getting a bit worked up
rant and rave

Go back and read both of our epic posts. Be honest. Who sounds more upset?
My wife actually asked me about what I was laughing while I was posting...

These too are fallacious arguments -- they are dichotomous, as if no other options exist except those you propose.

I have to admit; that's good word usage, right there. Wow

I can only wonder if you would behave the same in person.

I'm pretty consistent conversationally and in prose. Perhaps we'll meet someday at Heritage, and I'll shake your hand.
There are no hard feelings on my end, just a chasm between your concept of the free exchange of thoughts and ideas, and mine.

May we now move foreward and return to the reason for this thread? That Heritage will offer FREE TRANSFERS wihtout restrictions?

OK - We all appreciate what Frank & Dave & Dave are doing, and I know we've been giving them a good laugh with this...

This whole thread is an example of how much fun forums can be without
someone thinking there is a need to weed anyone out.

I say, throw the "riffraff" into the ring and let them have a go.
It's way more amusing than stopping them at the door...

Could we ever have had so much fun with Cashmere (and Cashmere Jr.)
on the RIFOL forum?

Sheesh...your posts are loaded with implication...to me, this isn't fun or productive. If you want to know something, take it to PM.

This thread is about Heritage continuing their FREE TRANSFERS indefinitely.

Your simple rules were overbearing and just plain silly.

My only post was a copy and paste supporting Heritage! I forgot to say hi then when I did with a hint of scarcasm they got pissy and banned it. I get a passive aggressive PM from some ding-a-ling mandating me to say hey. That was it introduce yourself nothing like my personally bio just say hello, I did and he got pissy. Over moderated crap.

I wanted to introduce myself when I had time to write some clever crap but I got banned. Woohoo.

Most of my damn posts are off my Iphone so they take a while. When I get a moment to sit down and type then I come on the forums.
